And this weekend's highlighted event is Columbus State University's Campus 2 Campus 8K Saturday morning.

Lauren Snow is CSU's Campus Recreation Administrative Assistant. She says this is the student recreation center's first-ever 4.79 mile race from their main campus to Uptown.

"Our intent behind the race is really to connect the community with our student body as we run from our main campus down to Riverpark and all throughout Columbus in between," says Snow.

If you're interested in volunteering or want more information on the race click here. Registration will be taking place at Big Dog Running Company Friday and before the race on Saturday.

Coming up: Our next event to highlight is the Cotton Pickin' Fair in Gay, Georgia May 5th and 6th.  Vendors and talent from across the nation will be in Gay next Saturday and Sunday to showcase all sorts of fantastic hand-made items! There will also be plenty of family-friendly activities and a great live band.
