YMCA executive director passes away

WRBL Staff - COLUMBUS, Ga. - A well-known figure in the community died Thursday morning in Columbus.

David Steele served as the Executive Director of the YMCA of Metro Columbus for 24 years. During that time he oversaw the renovation of the Warm Springs Road facility and the construction of the Downtown YMCA.

Many describe him as a beloved and respected leader in the community.

Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.

The family is asking instead of flowers to support John Davis by giving to his GoFundMe page.
