Great day trip is a tour of the Franklin Roosevelt “Little White House” and museum in Warm Springs, Georgia (National park Service site). His cabin where he spent many days getting away from Washington and the war weary years is there along with a terrific museum of everything from President Roosevelt’s car he designed to drive with no use of his legs due to polio, memorabilia from The Great Depression, pre and post WW11. Warm Springs’ hospitals and sanitariums were a recuperative place for polio victims and a place where the President learned the plight of rural farmers during the depression. While there a great restaurant is The Bulloch House in Warm Springs. Feels, tastes like you’re eating at grandma’s house….
