WRBL’s Partner in Education, Loyd Elementary Hosts Cup Stacking Competition.

It’s called cup stacking. It is a competitive “stacking sport” that has stolen the hearts of kids across the country. The goal is to stack and break down pyramids built out of cups as quickly as possible.

On Thursday March 6, 2008, Loyd Elementary hosted a Cup Stacking Competition for six elementary and middle schools. Over fifty students came from Ft. Benning,
Columbus and as far as north-west Atlanta to compete in a series of events.

“Cup Stacking has a lot of benefits,” says Loyd Elementary Physical Education Teacher Rose Mishkoff, “it helps improve brain activity, train dexterity with both hands and teach positive competition.”

WRBL was on hand to announce the winners and help hand out awards.

The schools that competed will be joined by four others at Faith Middle School of Fort Benning on April 2nd for the next Cup Stacking event.

WRBL is Partners in Education with Loyd Elementary. Of all the schools on Ft. Benning, Loyd has the highest percentage of parents serving their country overseas.
