Teresa Whitaker - Anchor

Teresa Whitaker began her career in television in 1987 as a production assistant. After 6 months, she was promoted to news where she began her reporting career as a general assignment reporter. She eventually took over the City Government beat. Not long after she became a reporter, Teresa was promoted to the anchor desk. She's anchored mornings and weekends, and at noon. She now co-anchors the 6 & 11pm newscasts weeknights. Teresa is a member of a local church. She's also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has been recognized for her work by several organizations including the American Legion, the NAACP and her alma mater. Teresa enjoys talking to students about her career and the importance of developing good communications skills. Teresa earned her Associate of Arts degree from CVCC, her BA in Mass Communications from West Georgia College (now known as the State University of West Georgia). She's a graduate of Kendrick High School. On her days off, Teresa loves spending time at home with her beloved pet, Pepper, a Pomeranian mix.
