Jack Rodgers - Sports Anchor/Reporter

Veteran sportscaster Jack Rodgers is back for his third tour of duty at News 3. Jack began his broadcasting career as a production assistant at WRBL in the early 80s and quickly worked his way up through the ranks. He spent three years as sports director before moving on to other assignments, eventually winding up as a news/sports producer at WXIA-TV in Atlanta. The Columbus High School grad left television in 1991 and, after a short stint in the front office of a minor league baseball team, focused his attention on the medical field. Jack is a nationally registered and Georgia certified paramedic and has spent time over the past thirteen years working with the Columbus Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Jack came back to WRBL in 1998 and spent the next seven years serving as the station's sports director. He left in 2005, after graduating from Columbus State University with a bachelor's degree in nursing. Jack is a member of Sigma Theta Tau - the national honor society for nursing. Jack splits his time these days between the News 3 sports desk and the emergency department at St. Francis Hospital. He enjoys spending his spare time at home with wife Laura and children Tripp and Meagan. Over his career, he's been honored by the Mississippi and Georgia Associated Press for his investigative and feature reports. The Associated Press has recognized Jack's journalistic efforts on numerous occasions over the past two decades. He also earned an Emmy nomination in 1991 for his work on a television news special that eventually won one of the industry's most coveted awards.
