The 3rd Brigade is scheduled to start coming home in a matter of days.

We don't know the specific dates yet, because of security reasons.

But an advanced party of a few hundred soldiers could be back at Fort Benning as early as mid-week.

The main body, consisting of over 2500 soldiers should be coming back around the beginning of May.

The last group is expected back from mid-May to the end of the May.

We caught up with the wife of one of the soldiers whose expected to come home in a matter of days.

It's not exactly something she enjoys, but for Cynthia Irvin - its a labor of love - all in an effort to welcome her soldier home.

She’s spent the last few days, cleaning carpet and getting Danny’s truck ready. Aside from getting things just right - she's just trying to keep busy.

She says, “I know he's coming home, I just don't know when he's coming home. I know he's leaving soon, I just don't know when and it's driving me crazy.”

In the four seasons Danny Irvin's been gone - a lot has happened, the couples kids have grown older and more than one holiday has come and gone.

There's another thing Cynthia Irvin is doing to prepare for her husband's homecoming. She's stocking up on his favorite junk foods - even saving a shelf on the refrigerator for his favorite drinks.”

And until he does get home --Cynthia says- she'll keep getting things in order and picturing the moment her favorite soldier walks through the door again. She says, “It's like one of those old fashioned movies, he just kisses you, throws you against the door cause he misses you so much.”

Cynthia Irvin says the military says they'll give her a 12 hour heads up as to when exactly her husband will be home. News three will be there for that homecoming.

One more thing - Cynthia is surprising her two children with the homecoming, so she's asking folks who know them to keep the news quiet.
