Teachers in Alabama may have more freedom when it comes to what they teach their students.
A bill that has been brought up in the House of Representatives would give teachers and professors more freedom than they currently have to teach certain things.
But some are worried this freedom would allow teacher to teach anything they want.
And a hot topic for debate is whether teachers would teach creation verses evolution.
“Its not the bill we're afraid of, but more the interpretation of the bill, we think it will be abused, see that and say I have all kinds of freedom now,” says Larry DiChiara, the superintendent of Phenix City Schools.
The bill has been introduced but has not gotten out of the committee stage.
