A Columbus man recently saw several large alligators in the Chattahoochee River on a boating trip. It happened three weeks agoTim Reid News 3 On Your Side
about four miles from Rotary Park near Victory Drive. Dave Arwood says seeing an alligator up close isn't something you see everyday in Columbus.
Arwood is the afternoon radio disc jockey at Q 107 and Boomer 95.3. Three weekends ago he took more than a dozen pictures of several large alligators
from his boat. He and his wife and some friends were taking a trip down the Chattahoochee and were shocked to see at least one alligator they
believe was about 13 feet long. The Department of Health and Human Services reports that from 1948 until 2004, there have been 376 injuries and 15
deaths in the United States as a result of alligator attacks.
