A big gift was given to the Muscogee County School District Thursday, in the form of cars.
Rob Doll Nissan in Columbus donated six cars to the district for their automotive technology programs at some of the high schools.
Jordan, Spencer and Carver high schools all received two cars to bring back to their shops and practice on.
Wagoneer trucking picked up the cars in Atlanta and brought them down to Columbus, free of charge.
Instructors say having newer models to work with is great for the students.
“If you can train kids on the up to date cars that are today’s cars then they leave this shop, they are already, ready to work some of them, or ready to go to school, and they are not behind so the things they are seeing is what you've been teaching them,” says Robert Harris, an instructor at Jordan High School.
Rob Doll Nissan also gave two cars to Harris County.
All of the cars are training cars, they are strictly used for students to work on and learn about the different functions of a vehicle
