Columbus City Officials to Hold Public Meetings on Tax Proposal

The Columbus City Council plans to hold public meetings so residents can familiarize themselves with the mayor's local option sales tax, or LOST. The first will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 19th at Forrest Road Elementary School. That's at 6400 Forrest Road. The second meeting is scheduled just a day later on Tuesday, May 20th at Blanchard Elementary School at 3512 Weems Road. That will also be at 6 p.m. The third meeting is scheduled on Thursday, May 22nd at 6:00 p.m. at Baker Middle School at 1215 Benning Drive. 70% of the tax would fund Public Safety, while the remainder would go towards infrastructure.
