A Columbus man is behind bars tonight after stabbing and killing a man during a verbal argument.

Columbus Police say 46-year-old James Oliver got into a verbal argument with 44-year-old Charles Edward Ousley late last Saturday night. Police say Ousley pulled out a sharp instrument and stabbed Oliver in the chest. Oliver was taken to the Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Columbus Police arrested Ousley late Sunday morning, in the Baker Village area of Columbus. He is being held in the Muscogee County Jail. He's scheduled to appear on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Columbus Recorder's Court.
