Four homes were ruined by a tornado that rolled through Russell County Sunday afternoon. According to the Russell County Emergency Management Agency, four homes were destroyed and four people were hospitalized.

We spoke to the nephew of one of the victims. She is listed in satisfactory condition at the Medical Center. "I'm shocked," Alvin Peterson said when he saw what was left of his aunt's trailer. "It's all gone," he said.

We also spoke to buddies Jeremy Redden and John Mott. The Cottonton residents say they were watching Nascar when the storm hit. "It was a perfect funnel", said Mott. Redden said he looked outside and said, "that right there looks strange."

The friends said they plan on spending Monday sawing trees that were snapped in the storm. Mott said his lumber farm was hit hard. In fact, he is looking at $40,000 in damage.

News 3 will have full coverage from Cottonton Monday evening.
