Students at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School in Columbus had a Cinco de Mayo party Monday.
The kids dressed up, danced and listened to authentic music.
They also spent the day learning about the culture and the language.
“I think it's important for these children to respect and understand every culture, along with their own. So it’s important because we have a lot of Hispanic children here from different countries that they have to respect each other,” says teacher Lisa Livingston.
Along with dancing and dressing up, a group of mothers prepared an authentic Mexican meal for lunch.
