Fort Benning soldier killed in Iraq

WASHINGTON (AP) - Another soldier from Fort Benning has died in action in Iraq.

The Defense Department today announced the death of 24-year-old Corporal Javier G. Paredes of San Antonio.

DOD says Paredes died last Wednesday in Baghdad of wounds suffered from a rocket propelled grenade attack.

The Texan was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Benning.
