Plans to move forward with a new Freshman Academy in Phenix City are now on hold. News 3 On Your Side

Stumble It!The Alabama Building Commission has the plan but has yet to approve of a final plan for the building.
The school district wants to move ahead with bids for the project but is waiting for the commission’s approval.
The new Freshman Academy will be next to Central High School.
The building will house all of the 9th graders.
It’s designed to give them their own space to help them transition into high school.
The hope is to open the building by the second semester of the next school year.
