You may have heard that starting next February, you may need a special converter box to watch TV. And the government is offering coupons for the boxes right now. In today’s Good Housekeeping Report, what you need to know about the digital TV transition.

Good Housekeeping says if you buy a new TV before next February, you don’t need to worry about buying a digital converter box for it. All TVs that are now being sold are digital ready.

You can get up to two of the government’s $40 coupons for the converter boxes. But you can’t combine them to buy a single converter box. And you have to use the coupon within 90 days of the date it was mailed to you. The government has already mailed over 7 million coupons out of the 22.2 million it will give out.
