ATLANTA (AP) - Republican presidential contender Rudolph Giuliani today accused Democratic Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of participating in "character assassination" of General David Petraeus and called on her to apologize.Associated Press
Speaking in Atlanta, the former New York City mayor linked Clinton to a controversial ad from the liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org calling the top U.S. commander in Iraq "General Betray-Us."
Giuliani said you can disagree with the general's tactics, but no one has the right to disagree with his integrity."
During hearings this week, Petraeus updated members of Congress on the Iraq war and recommended troop reductions by next summer.
Giuliani made the remarks after shaking hands with a lunchtime crowd at the OK Cafe in Atlanta. He also is expected to attend three fund raisers while in Georgia.
