According to Lafayette Police – they may have your stuff. Boxes packed full of stolen automotive supplies, flags - taken from a cemetery and piles of ammunition and 18 guns.

Lafayette police say they don't know who rightfully owns the stuff - but they say - they found it in a house near downtown Lafayette. They were serving a warrant for a bribery charge - but once inside they found quite a stash of stolen goods and a jar of marijuana.

And the surprises just kept coming for Lafayette Police. While they were searching, they found more than a dozen street signs from around town – answering, they say – the question of who’s been stealing road signs.

The suspects - according to police are 23 year old John Walding – the one on whom they were serving the original warrant - and his mom- Janice Walding. Police say a 17 year old was also arrested but we can’t release his name because he's a minor.

“I have never felt in any danger from the people who lived in that house says Betty Barrett. She’s the town librarian.

She says she knows Janice Walding - she comes in the library - she's even done business with her, “She's an herbalist - I lave bought lavender from her- things like that -she's a real gentle person.”

But police tell a different story - they say the whole thing was a family affair. Says Lafayette Police Lieutenant Jerome Bailey, “The mother was living with the them, she should’ve known what was going on.”

And as police try to figure out just how much the loot is worth - they're just thankful that everything that was taken - has a price tag.

Janice and John Walding face drug and theft charges. As for the guns - the ATF is coming to town tomorrow to try and figure out who the guns belong to. If you think you may have been a victim in one of the thefts, you can call Lafayette Police at 334-864-2200.
