"Why Lord, I'm doing what you asked me to?" That's what the pastor of Believers of God AOH Church is saying. His church has been burglarized by copper thieves for the third time since November.

The first time the thieves struck, they stole an air conditioning and heating unit that controls the front of the church. Then in January, thieves took the main unit from behind the church. The church replaced it. Then Wednesday the Pastor noticed once again, it was destroyed.

"Its like wow, " Whitley says, "you begin to scratch your head. Does somebody have a vendetta against me?"

Whitley says the church is now "in the red." he doesn't know when he'll be able to replace the heating unit. he's thinking about moving church services outside in the meantime. He says its actually warmer than the inside.

Whitley says he's trying to keep the whole ordeal in perspective, "I have to remember all things happen for the good of those who love him. I'm just going to keep my head up and keep going."

Columbus Police say places of worship are being targeted for copper theft. Police say you can help protect yourself from copper theft. You can have a business/home watch put on your location. Police will then periodically do drive-bys to keep watch on your property.
