Columbus Technical College hosted more than 160 high schools students from all around the area today for the SkillsUSA competition.
SkillsUSA is a national competition for students who are preparing for trade, technical and skilled services careers.
The students competed in Columbus and the winners will go on to a state wide competition.
“Hands on real life training combined with education so that people can see the practical application that they are going to take with them,” says Cheryl Myers, the director of communications at Columbus Technical College.
Other students were on the campus today for a career expo.
Students toured the college to see first hand the equipment and training they need for specific careers.
