A Russell County man is behind bars as a result of a joint operation to crack down on drugs. Joshua Burnham was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon and charged with possession of marijuana. Investigators with the Russell County Sheriff's office say Burnham was allegedly growing pot in his yard. His home is located at 17 grove road in Phenix city, that’s near highway eighty. Authorities tell us they spotted marijuana from several hundred feet in the air in the state police helicopter in Burnhams yard. The drug bust was the result of a joint operation between the sheriff's office and the Alabama Bureau of investigation. The operation is part of the marijuana eradication program.
