COLUMBUS GA--Police have both suspects in the Millie’s Market shooting leaving one man shot in the face yesterday.News 3 On Your Side
It all happened Friday, at Millie's Market on South Lumpkin Road in Columbus. Two masked men went into the store demanding money. Lefty Encarnacion owns t he market and he says he was in his office when he heard his employees yelling.
The two armed men demanded money from the register. Encarnacion's cook, Walter Murraro was shot in the head and later released from the medical center.
One of the suspects in the robbery told police he robbed the store because he needed money for his newborn baby and his car.
We were there this morning when twenty one year old Jose Viera appeared in recorders court. He's being charged on three counts of aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm under commission of a crime
Police caught the second suspect earlier this morning on Saint Mary's Road.
Berrell Myers is accused of shooting Walter Murraro. He's being charged for armed robbery, three counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm under commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Myers will appear in recorders court on Monday at 9 a.m. Stay with News 3 for the latest.
