“Unique describes her in one word,” Sherlyn Swan'caisey has many memories of her sister Sherlene Church, but the one characteristic that stuck out was her personality.News 3 on Your Side
“She's been in this community for a short while and so many people loved her,” she says.
Swan'caisey says her sister married Jerry Church in December of last year. They didn't make it to their one year anniversary.
“They didn't have time to enjoy themselves as husband and wife, although they did enjoy themselves as partners for three years.”
One of the couple's neighbors says he got close to the couple, especially jerry, when they moved in the house behind his, “we got along like two peas in a hub.”
He says he and Jerry would mow each other's lawns and that's how he'll remember his good friend. “I can come out my back door and look up that lane where me and him used to travel with our lawn mowers.”
Sherlene's sister says the couple made many friends because they were so friendly and so much alike, she says their marriage is something that was real and she can be at peace knowing that.
“the two of them were in it together they died together and I don't think one could've survived without the other.”
