Alabama

Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
The Low-Income High Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) assists low-income Alabama residents with the high cost of home energy. Funding is provided from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) block grant through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Weatherization Assistance Program
The Weatherization Program is designed to save energy and enhance the self-sufficiency of low-income families by helping them to reduce their home heating and cooling bills. Weatherization assistance may include installing insulation, replacing or repairing windows and doors, sealing of air leaks, patching small areas of the roof, or underskirting. ADECA administers this program through the Community Action Agencies across the state.

Project Share
The intention of Project SHARE (Service to Help Alabamians with Relief on Energy) is to help meet the energy needs of qualified, low income elderly, or disabled individuals facing financial and/or medical situations.

Georgia

Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

H.E.A.T., Inc.
Heating Energy Assistance Team (H.E.A.T.), Inc. is a nonprofit organization that assists Georgians with their home energy needs.

Project Share
Project SHARE provides emergency assistance to Georgians who need help with basic necessities – housing, food, medical care and utility services. The program assists the elderly, the disabled, the unemployed, the sick and others who are experiencing financial hardship.

The Georgia Weatherization Assistance Program’s mission is to reduce state and national consumption of energy while providing a safe, improved environment and enhanced quality of life for Georgia’s income eligible households.
