Starting next fall, students at Spencer High School in Columbus have the opportunity to enroll in a new academy of computer science and electronic game design.
The students will be able to take AP courses, computer science and programming classes.
The school is now recruiting eighth graders in the district who are interested in technology
and computers to be the first class in the academy.
The new academy will take the place of the justice military program at Spencer.
The school is taking applications for the new program until April 1.
“The need out there is just so great for technical and we feel in the best interest of our community our stakeholders, we want to provide them with employable skills and knowledge they can carry into the future,” says Spencer principal, Reginald Griffin.
