Another automotive supplier is moving into the area to support Kia.News 3 On Your Side
Sejong Georgia will invest $27.8 million in a LaGrange facility.
The company has secured a 23 acre site at the former Federal Mogul facility on Lukken Industrial Drive West in LaGrange.
Kia and its supplier has been all the buzz in LaGrange for months.
And now, there's more news for the area.
A new supplier is coming to LaGrange.
“We have located one major supplier that's under construction here and this is the second one so we're excited about that,” says president of the LaGrange Chamber of Commerce, Jane Fryer.
Sejong Georgia will be manufacturing mufflers and exhaust systems for Kia.
A new company and a new opportunity for the area.
“Were very excited about bringing this new culture to the community the new jobs its bringing to replace jobs we lost in the past and the bright future we will have with everything going on with Kia,” says Fryer.
Sejong Georgia will create 250 jobs for LaGrange and the surrounding areas.
The facility is expected to be up and running in October of 2009.
With hiring expected to begin during the summer of next year.
“The jobs are important to us and its important to make sure that Kia has the suppliers close to them, Kia can’t make a car without the suppliers,” says Fryer.
Sejong Georgia is the second Kia supplier to call LaGrange home.
Daelim USA announced this summer that it will work out of LaGrange as well.
Fryer says she's excited to welcome another company and is excited for the future of the area.
“Just very pleased and welcome them to our community and just look for good things to happened with Sejong,” says Fryer.
This will be the second US facility for the company.
Along with the new location in LaGrange, there is a Sejong Alabama in Fort Deposit, Alabama.
There they supply parts for Hyundai
Although Sejong Georgia is not currently hiring, there is another supplier in LaGrange that is.
Daelim USA will be hiring 75 people at the beginning of January.

Those companies will serve as Kia suppliers out of LaGrange.
Pretty Products will increase its workforce by about 130 jobs.
They produce rubber floor mats.
Dongwon Autopart Technology will employ about 300 people.
The company will operate out of Meriwether County.
Construction is set to begin in January and end in July.
Mobis Georgia is expected to operate in West Point and create 600 jobs.
