Fried chicken, collard greens, black eyed peas; they're all on the menu at a brand new restaurant in Columbus.
Argo's To Go had a ribbon cutting for its second restaurant in the valley area Monday morning.
The new restaurant is located on 10th Street in the old farmer's market.
The other restaurant is in Phenix City.

With all of the struggles on Wall Street and main street, why open a restaurant now?

“Today we have fried chicken, meat loaf, salmon patties,” says Robbin Argo, as she serves up a lunch plate.

Its southern food served with a smile.
But lately, there hasn't been too much to smile about.
Rising food and fuel prices, financial markets crashing, and businesses cutting back; this isn’t the best time for business.
But Argo says it’s not all bad news.

“People have to eat and I hope they will come and eat with us,” says Argo.

Argo says although the times are tough, that doesn't mean people don't want corn bread or collard greens; they just want more greens for their green.

Her recipe for success is cheap, fast and fresh food.

“With what we have to offer, we will be able to ride this out, and ride out the difficult times so when it’s good, it will be much better,” says Argo.

But she knows it won't all be sugar and spice.

“It is scary, but I think it’s scary to open a business in good times,” says Argo.

Whether it's good times or bad times on Wall Street; Argo says it's always good times in the kitchen.
Argo says the key to their food is freshness and with the farmers market in the restaurant's back yard, she says they can bring fresh vegetables to the plate.
