Residents living in one Phenix City neighborhood are asking the city for help. On Sunday a storm passed over the city and dumped a lot of rain in the Crowell Park subdivision in south Phenix City causing flooding problems for some residents. Marcus Jett took a day off from work on Monday to clean up his home. The heavy rainfall caused several inches of water to flow into several of his bedrooms, and one bathroom. Jett says he and his wife were enjoying they’re Sunday relaxing around they’re home and were shocked when they saw all the water. “We just happened to go into our bathroom and we noticed water on the floor and we thought the toilet had overflowed. But then we realized it was mud water coming in through our walls” Jett said. He says the problem starts in a big ditch in a wooded area behind his house. After a heavy rainfall, the
water travels down the hill and ends up in several backyards. According to Phenix City engineer Angel Moore, her office is looking into what can be done to help solve the flooding problems. Moore and her team visited the area Monday morning. She says the city council or the city manager will decide what can or cannot be done to help resolve the problems.
