A Russell County man will spend the rest of his life in prison for sexually abusing a nine year old girl. Tuesday morning Judge George Green sentenced thirty nine year old Robert Justus to life in jail without parole for rape and sodomy. The crime happened in 2003 from May until September. Investigators say Justus knew the victim because his wife was her baby sitter. Chief Deputy District Attorney Buster Landreau says he was glad Justus got life in jail. "Robert Justus has two prior convictions, one in Georgia for child molesting and the other for aggravated child molesting. So we think it is extremely important because these people don't stop being predators" said Landreau. Robert Justus was found guilty by a Jury in December for rape. Buster Landreau says the Russell County Child Advocacy Center was instrumental in the case because workers got the victim to talk about the crime. Robert Justus will be transferred from Russell County to a state prison in Alabama.
