Backpacks for school can cost a bundle. But Good Housekeeping shows you how to save money and buy the best ones, in today’s Good Housekeeping Report.

Last year, American families spent an average of $560 for back to school supplies.

The North Face’s Borealis backpack also got high marks from Good Housekeeping’s testers because it did well in the lab’s “abrasion” tests. That means this backpack will hold up if it gets thrown to the sidewalk or dragged on the ground.
