The next time students, teachers and parents of Rigdon Road Elementary go to school, it will be in a new building.News 3 On Your Side
Today was the last day students and teachers will hold class in this building.
They said goodbye to the old school and will say hello to the new school soon.
The brand new school is just down the street.
The school is packed up and ready for the move.
Today, the students and teachers remembered all the great times they had together in this building.
Beatrice Allen is a counselor at Rigdon Road and has been at the school for 34 years.
“I have very bitter sweet feelings right now, I'm sadden because there are so many fond memories here this is where I got my start,” says Allen.
The school starts their winter break today and will not be back in school until next year.
January 8th will be the first day of the school in a new year and in a new building.
