Today, they went on a shopping spree.
It's not your typical shopping trip at the grocery store.
Sure, the staples are the same.
Cereal, canned goods and those much needed sides.
But this trip to Sam's Club is different.
This time it's for others.
“The food we receive here from the fox trip goes into our pantry and it keeps our pantry full pretty much the majority of the year,” says Rhonda Mobley of The Valley Rescue Mission.
Students from Fox Elementary have been collecting money for The Valley Rescue Mission all year.
Now the $6,000 they raised is going fast.
Each group had $360 to spend, filling their carts within minutes.
They even had to take a pit stop to reload.
“We got to add up all we did and pick stuff up and just throw it in the basket,” says Chioma Grives.
All the hard work paid off.
The pantry will be full of food and the students had a day full of fun.
The grand total after all that food was checked out was $ 8,550.
The school raised a little more than $6,000 and the Walmart Foundation donated the rest.
