A Columbus man is behind bars charged with the capital murder of a woman found dead Thursday in Fort Mitchell. Clyde Friend from
Columbus was arrested Thursday night around 6:30 and was formally charged with the murder. Investigators tell us 30 year old Tiffany Folmar was hitchhiking and Friend picked her up. Her body was found by her family members near a railroad track Thursday afternoon near Gilmore road in Fort Mitchell. Officials say Folmar had been reported missing two days ago. Sheriff Tommy Boswell tells News 3 he was glad to get the alleged killer off the streets. “Well of course this just begins the process. But I'm sure this arrest will be a relief to the grieving family members. But this is just the beginning, they will have to attend court hearing and they will be subjected to that as the process goes through” Boswell said. Clyde Friend was arraigned Friday morning and is being held in the Russell County jail. Right now sheriff officials are not saying how Tiffany Folmar was killed. Her body was sent to the crime lab in Montgomery
for an autopsy. Folmar leaves behind an infant son. Her funeral arrangements are pending. Her father tells News 3 Tiffany was a bright and fun person and will be missed.
