The best teacher in the country was in Columbus this morning.
Andrea Peterson is the 2007 National Teacher of the Year.
She was at Columbus State University this morning talking to education majors about the ups and downs of teaching.
Peterson is an elementary music teacher in Washington.
She says this title is an honor.
“It’s humbling, I mean to be asked to represent all the teachers in the nation, that's incredible but it’s been amazing to see all the great teacher all around the country,” says Peterson.
Peterson has been teaching for 11 years.
She says she learned most of what she knows from her father, who has been teaching for more than 30 years.
