The valley area is $3 million richer this afternoon.
The Valley Partnership received a $3 million grant this afternoon from Governor Perdue's office.
The money will go towards workforce training and development.
Area colleges and universities will get anywhere from $35,000 to $ 1 million for the training.
“The ability to develop the workforce aligned to these jobs that are going to be needed is important,” says Debra Lyons of the workforce development office.
Many of the people benefiting from this training will be those who move into the area because of BRAC and Kia.
The training will specifically target the felids of industrial construction, automotive maintenance and aerospace manufacturing.
