TUSCALOOSA – The Alabama Softball team completed a two-game sweep of Missouri 7-1 here today to win the NCAA Softball Championships Tuscaloosa Super Regional held at the Alabama Softball Complex this weekend and advance to its fifth College World Series.

Alabama (56-6), which won game one of the Super Regional 6-1 Friday night, scored seven runs on five hits today while Missouri (47-17) managed nine hits but only one run. A majority of Alabama’s offense came in the third inning when sophomore Charlotte Morgan hit a grand-slam home run to put the Tide up 4-0 and the fourth inning with the Tide tacked on three more runs.

Morgan also picked up the win, going to 17-2 on the season while Jen Bruck took the loss, falling to 17-10.

Alabama now advances to the World Series, which gets underway May 29 in Oklahoma City, Okla., for the third time in four years and the fifth time since first making the elite field in 2000.
