AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - James Stang captured the 5,000-meter race and teammates Shawn Forest and Tyler Hill finished fourth and seventh, respectively, giving Arkansas 17 points to erase a half-point deficit as Arkansas captured the Southeastern Conference track and field championship over LSU.

The Razorbacks finished with 131.5 points and LSU had 122 in the final championship for the Razorbacks under coach John McDowell, who is retiring. It was Arkansas' 84th conference track title and its 46th SEC crown. The others came in the old Southwest Conference.

Meanwhile, LSU captured the women's championship with 157.5 points, well ahead of second place Florida with 129 points. Arkansas was third with 88.5.
