OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Tim Ferguson hit a walk-off three-run home run in his only at-bat to lift Mississippi to a 7-6 win over Auburn on Friday night.

Ferguson's home run kept the Rebels (32-19, 13-12) in the Southeastern Conference Western Division race with three weekends to go. Ole Miss entered the three-game series with Auburn (26-24, 10-15) in a second-place tie with Alabama and a half-game behind LSU.

Mike Bianucci's three-run home run helped the Tigers build a 5-2 lead through five innings and it appeared the lead would stand going into the ninth. But Ferguson, who entered as a defensive replacement at shortstop in the eighth inning, ended the game with a home run off reliever Bryan Woodall (0-2).

Jake Morgan picked up the win with 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief.
