McFadden Picks Up Walter Camp Award

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Arkansas running back Darren McFadden has been named the college football player of the year by the Walter Camp Football Foundation. He becomes the first Razorback to receive the honor.

McFadden set schools record by rushing for 1,725 yards and gaining 2,172 all-purpose yards. He scored 16 touchdowns and had nine 100-yard rushing games, including a 321-yard performance against South Carolina.

The nation's 119 Football Bowl Subdivision coaches and sports information directors vote on the Camp award. McFadden will receive his trophy on January 12th at the foundation's annual banquet.
