BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Alabama and Auburn both placed eight players on the preseason coaches All-Southeastern Conference teams.

League coaches unanimously chose Crimson Tide left tackle Andre Smith as a first-teamer in balloting released Monday. He was one of six unanimous picks. Also making the first-team were Auburn defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks and punter Ryan Shoemaker. Alabama safety Rashad Johnson was also tapped to repeat as a first-teamer.

LSU led all teams with 14 players on the three All-SEC teams. Florida was next up with 10.

Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno and a fellow Bulldog, linebacker Dannell Ellerbe were named to the first team by Southeastern Conference football coaches in their preseason poll.

Moreno, a sophomore, was one of six unanimous selections in the poll, which was released on Monday. Quarterback Matthew Stafford was named to the second-team offense along with wide receiver Mohamed Massequoi. Defensive lineman Geno Atkins and defensive back Asher Allen were chosen for the second team.

Named to the third team were defensive tackle Jeff Owens, linebacker Rennie Curran and punter Brian Mimbs.

This is the fifth year of the SEC Coaches Pre-Season All-SEC Football Team. It is released in advance of the 2008 SEC Football Media Days, which will be held July 23-25, at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Ala.
