The No. 25 Auburn football team held its final practice in preparation for Saturday’s Iron Bowl game against Alabama, working out for almost an hour and a half Wednesday afternoon at the practice fields behind the Athletics Complex. from Auburn Media Relations
Wednesday’s light practice started with special teams, and the squad continued to work against the scout teams before concluding with a two-minute drill. The Tigers, who have had two weeks to prepare, will just have positional meetings and a quick walk-through on Thursday morning.
"It’s been two good weeks," said head coach Tommy Tuberville. "The guys have really done a good job on and off the field, knowing what this game means. There’s been a lot of good preparation, not just out here (on the practice field), but also in the film room. Everybody’s done a good job of going through the motions the last couple of days, but still trying to stay mentally sharp and not get too bored with what we’ve been doing."
Auburn (7-4, 4-3 SEC) will host Alabama (6-5, 4-3 SEC) Saturday at 7 p.m. in a game that will be nationally televised by ESPN. The Tigers will be attempting to finish with a winning conference record for the eighth season in a row.
