Tigers Take Game One Against MSU

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Ryan Jenkins had a two-run homer and Mike Bianucci drove in three runs to lead Auburn to an 11-4 win over Mississippi State on Friday night.

Gary Drayton (7-1) allowed one run and had 12 strikeouts in seven innings for the Tigers (24-22, 8-13 Southeasten Conference).

Auburn never trailed, taking a 5-1 lead in the fourth inning. Joseph Sanders scored on a sacrifice fly, Justin Hargett had a run-scoring single and Jenkins hit his homer.

The Tigers scored two runs in the fifth and another in the next inning on Bianucci's RBI double. The Bulldogs (18-26, 6-15) cut into the lead with four runs in the seventh on a three-run homer by Ryan Collins. But couldn't pull any closer.

Chad Crosswhite (2-4) gave up six runs and six hits in four innings for Mississippi State.
