A FREEZE WARNING is in effect for much of East Central Alabama including Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Lee, Macon, Pike, and Russell Counties from late Monday night through Tuesday morning.National Weather Service Forecast Office, Birmingham, AL & Peachtree City, GA
Clearing is expected from west to east over the remainder of the area tonight. This will allow readings to fall quickly into the 30s. Freezing temperatures will occur in some of the normally colder locations around 1 AM and lasting until just after 7 AM.
The freeze is not forecasted to be as widespread and temperatures are not forecasted to be as cold as previously expected. However, even for locations that do not freeze, patchy frost is expected.
A FREEZE WARNING means that sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or likely. Sensitive vegetation should be protected.
A FREEZE WATCH is in effect for North and Central Georgia for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning including Meriwether, Pike, and Troup Counties.
Temperatures may drop to freezing or below.
A FREEZE WATCH means conditions are favorable for a freeze. Those with agricultural interests should make preparations to protect sensitive vegetation and young trees.
