A Frost Advisory is in effect from 4 AM until 9 AM EDT for Harris, Talbot, Troup, Meriwether, and Pike Counties in Georgia and for all of the Alabama counties in the News 3 viewing area.

An area of cool, Canadian high pressure with clear skies and calm winds will build over north and central Alabama and Georgia dropping temperatures into the 30s. Some locations, particularly low-lying rural areas, may experience temperatures at or below freezing. Recent rains will provide ample moisture for the development of frost where temperatures fall below freezing. The potential for patchy frost exists.

A Frost Advisory means that frost is expected to develop during the growing season. Those with agricultural interests are advised to harvest or protect tender vegetation. Additionally, potted plants normally left outdoors should be covered or brought inside away from the cold.
