The center of Ike is approaching Western Cuba, as of 8:00 AM EDT, with maximum sustained winds near 80 mph. All persons with interests in the Yucatan Peninsula should monitor the progress of Ike. Ike is moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph and should emerge into the Gulf of Mexico late this afternoon or this evening. Isolated tornadoes and waterspouts are possible over the Florida Keys and extreme South Florida today.
