A tornado watch has been issued until 9 AM CDT for much of East Central Alabama. The watch includes Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Lee, Macon, Pike, and Russell Counties. Isolated tornadoes, thunderstorm wind gusts to 70 mph, and dangerous lightning are all possible as storms move through the area in association with the outer bands of Tropical Depression Fay. A tornado watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes. People in the watch area should be alert for rapidly changing conditions and for future warnings that may be issued.
