1 man dead, family member arrested in Lee Road 156 shooting

WRBL Staff - LEE COUNTY, Ala. -- Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones confirms a man is dead after a shooting at a home on Lee Road 156.

First responders say around 6 p.m., they found 40-year-old Marshall Norgard of Opelika on the ground near the home suffering from gunshot wounds.

Lee County Coroner Bill Harris pronounced Norgard dead at the scene at 6:48 PM.

Deputies arrested 54-year-old Michael Norgard in connection to the shooting. Michael Norgard is believed to be the uncle of the victim.

Marshall's body has been taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences medical examiner's office in Montgomery for an autopsy.
