Coroner identifies man shot in 24th Street homicide

UPDATES:

1:30 p.m. -- Columbus Police continue to investigate a late night shooting that resulted in one dead — and it happened in the same place a man was shot and killed last week.

Deputy Coroner Freeman Worley confirms the shooting to News 3 this morning. He says 23-year-old Glenn Adipi was shot around 11 p.m. Monday night.

By midday Tuesday, Columbus Police say the investigation remains in the early stages. Investigators are in the process of interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence.

Police tell News 3 they are not sure at this time if the shooting is connected to another man's death in the same area May 1.

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Columbus patrol officers and detectives are on the scene investigating a homicide in the 1400 block of 24th Street.

The Muscogee County Coroner's Office confirms the victim 23-year-old Glenn Adipi was shot to death around 11 p.m. Monday night.

News 3 confirms the scene of the shooting is in front of the same apartment complex where 26-year-old Lavonte Thomas was murdered Monday, May 1.
