UPDATE: Incident at Greystone Falls apartment complex ruled murder-suicide by Columbus police

Columbus police are officially ruling the incident at the Greystone Falls Apartment as a murder-suicide.

Police say officers received at call March 18 at 1:10 p.m. in reference to a welfare check. Friends stated that they could hear a baby crying and all of the McGibney vehicles were in the parking lot.

The baby that was found unharmed and was located then removed from the apartment.

The homicide unit assumed the investigation. McGibney and Clark were involved in a domestic disturbance in which McGibney physically assaulted Clark.

Police say McGibney then killed Clark by shooting her then shot and killed himself.

The child was turned over to DFACS until next of kin could be notified.

COLUMBUS, Ga. --We now know the names of two people found dead inside a north Columbus apartment.

29-year-old Casey Leigh Clark and 56-year-old Denis McGibney were found at Greystone Falls Apartment on Williams Court Sunday.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan says a 1-year-old child was found in a carseat stroller inside the apartment when the bodies were found and that the child had been there for two days.

Columbus police are investigating the deaths and the possibility it could have been a murder-suicide, but no ruling has been publicly made.
